"What more did you expect? This is a political army, more or less, run by humans. When it comes to politics and humans nothing moves quickly no matter how great the need- and nothing is handed down easily to elves. If he needs to be of use? Tail the scouts. Hunt. Scavenge. We've more and more coming in every day and the larder is nowhere near full. You cannot simply wait to be given something." Missions to be handed out to other humans? That would come easily. Gladly. Elves?

Nothing is ever handed to elves. It is naive to assume otherwise. Once again he reminds himself that they are young and- apparently, terribly sheltered if this is so strange a truth to them. One of the greatest strengths of the Dalish is also their most dire weakness. Isolation.

"People change their lives every day. Either you learn from it and move with the tide or you drown under the wave." Adapt or die. "If he starts up again in the tavern while I am there and finds his face ground into the wood I will do nothing. If he starts slamming knives around I will have to intervene. There are people enough here that have no need of the violence that brings."
